Roux Scholarship
United Kingdom
Приєднався 7 січ 2010
The Roux Scholarship is the premier competition for chefs in the UK and ranks among the most prestigious in the world. However, it is far more than just a competition that ends with a prize.
The Roux Scholarship offers the winner a career changing opportunity that is unrivaled and stretches far beyond the much coveted 3 month stage at a 3 star Michelin restaurant. That is just the start. It is what follows that really counts and the advice and guidance that the Roux family give that can make a career truly exceptional.

What Thomas PROBABLY knows. His buddy, Gavin, is driving everone out. Please tell me how normal people will survive, fuel, food, houseing, going out for food, or entertainment?
This food is ridiculously outdated and I would say almost twee. Definitely not fine dining anymore - I see why he closed the restaurant!
It feels like Alain is a little more skillful than Michel, or am I wrong?
Love and appreciation for this family x
If metal affects caviar taste why do processing facilities use metal all throughout the harvesting process? From the knife to the bowls and spoons.
I live about an hour away from The French Laundry. Someday, for a very special occasion, I'll have a meal there. Unless, I get rich, then I'll eat there once a month.
I use that thumb hack, but its not caviar and it doesnt go to the mouth.
michel roux is the worst chef in the Roux family with the most to prove lol
The Legacy Continues.... Bravo!
Very excited news
Can't wait I love these.
It's great that Emily is a part of the scholarship, and it's totally understandable that the main focus of this scholarship is not the cousins. However, unfortunately, this channel, along with the scholarship, will suffer, unless its two biggest stars come back and put on masterclasses. There's no denying that the masterclasses draw in enormous viewership, in comparison to the last two scholarships. One masterclass equals hundreds of thousands of views. No masterclass? Less than five thousand views. We're all on your side. Sometimes, it's about not fixing what isn't broken.
Damn she got old and fat 😢
Non ci sono più le masterclass di Alain e Michel? Queste masterclass che davano attualita alla grande cucina di Escoffier o Gouffe etc erano bellissime e io ho imparato molto.
WOW….cooking with such international remarkable and fabulous chef’s …no pressure….but what a honour Congratulations to all that made the final 6….❤
I really miss the Alain and Michel Jr. masterclasses. They are among my favourite cooking videos.
No more Alain and Michel Jr. masterclasses? :(
Wonderful video and good luck with The Roux Scholarship 2024. Kind regards from Copenhagen, Denmark
"There is a class among them and within themselves."
It is so incredibly important to offer young talent a chance, a stage and a platform. What the entire Roux family is doing here is incredible. You can only bow your head in respect. In addition to the very hard work of the restaurateur, to always have the development of others in mind and to promote it is worthy of all honour. Thank you for not being one of those who constantly moan because there are no young people in the catering trade, but for being one of the few who actively do something to give this great profession the glamour it deserves! Chapeau
Yes, but they have to stick to a formula that works. Alain and Michel Jr.'s masterclasses score huge entertainment points and production value for this channel. It meant that each competitor had to prove how well they know the classics. The last Alain and Michel Jr. masterclass, in 2022, has over 114k views. They didn't upload anything for the 2023 edition, besides the live stream, and that has less than 4k views. Let's hope they return the format to its original brilliance!
Bumbu
I wish they invited judge(s) from Lassare Restaurant, French or any 1980-2010 3-Michelin star restaurant.
We want another Alain and Michel Jr. masterclass!!!
Bumps of caviar. Sorry for the flavorful tasteless joke.
Two very great Chefs in the Culinary Cosmos ;-)
The roux scholarship is awarded to the best alpha male testosterone guys chefs for great Britain 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🎄🎄🎄🇬🇧🇬🇧 congratulations 🎉
This is old school!
I love watching this stunningly beautiful cooking but one thing I find upsetting is that you amazing chefs don't think the UK has their own fantastic recipes from way way back when.
Not a fan of pretentious food rbh.
@Abefroman1812 Deep in your mom.
I bet they don’t tolerate any vegan rubbish
Get ur own business and see how u pay them smartarse
Pfffff what a total passé dish , really don’t u have anything innovative to show?
KFC anyone?
Both born in England but Alain has a French accent and Michel an English? Is 8 years training in France enough to impart such a strong accent?
I just love the warmth and passion Michel Jr possesses. I'm an intermediate homecook and haven't really cared at all about the more elaborate kinds of dishes, but Michel Jr has this ability to make me interested with his enthusiasm.
That finished plate is a perfection of skills. Mastering these skills inspires other modern dishes which may become future classics. (I’m thinking of something crafted with turkey, cranberry and savory stuffing/nuts for Thanksgiving)
So much skill in this video! I don't think they ever mentioned which animal the liver came from - does anyone know?
Michel is on _something_... 🤣
Bugger I am allergic to duck, unless I am behind a shotgun
The bagged stock killed any of their legitamacy to me.
WHY DON'T I SEE MORE BLACK PEOPLE GOING FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP: IT CAN'T BE THAT NO BLACK PEOPLE ARE NOT LEARNING CULINARY TECHNIQUES: THEIR ARE MANY WHO QUALIFIES FOR THIS: BUT; MAYBE THIS SCHOLARSHIP DOESN'T RECOGNIZE OTHERS: MORE DIVERSITY: THAT IS MY PROBLEM: I RESPECT THE ROUX FAMILY BUT; IT CAN'T BE:
Black people just aren't really into classical French cuisine, as much as white, brown, and yellow people are. Don't be a fake victim.
There is black people who win Roux Scholarship in 2000. Check out the Roux Scholarship 2016 video. 😊
You can easily see how this dynasty of great chefs are able to produce alumni like Marco Pierre White the youngest 3 Michelin recipient ever at 33 and many more including Gordon Ramsey.
Who would eat this garbage??
Blutige rohe Ente!
I worked with a chef who trained under the Roux brothers and we did a lot there dishes and right now I am having a flashback thanks
Who ate all those pies?
Impressive
You know these guys are good they laughed the whole way threw and look how awesome it is gorgeous 😂😮
Who would eat such pretentious crap????
You couldn't pay me to eat that crap!!!!
